  • The Great Madhviagoudia Cultural Heritage of India - Kaliyug Pavanaavtar Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu laid the foundation of this Great Indian Cultural Heritage some more than 500 years ago. The same is well upheld and richly nurtured by temple Radhadamodarji, Chaura Rasta, Jaipur, 302 003 (Rajasthan - India). Shri Jeeva Goswami was his intimate disciple. The sacred divine image of his personal worship, Thakur Shri Radhadamodarji is enshrined in this temple. Besides, the Divine holy Shila of Shri Goverdhanji (Shri Girrajji Maharaj) which the Great Lord Shri Krishna himself gave to Shri Sanatan Goswami is also enshrined in this temple. Devotees from all around come to receive the solace and bliss of this Divine Shila to fulfill their wishes. It is said that Late Shri Sanatan Goswamiji used to have a daily circumambulation of the Sacred Mountain Girrajji (around 21 kilometres). When he got old, it became difficult for him. Lord Shri Krishna gave him this Shila with his feet impressions and consoled him that he could just daily circumambulate around this Divine Shila & it will accomplish his routine which he so far carried. This Divine Bliss is cherished well and open to the common man in the temple!

  • SILAMBAM AND KUTHUVARISAI - SILAMBAM AND KUTHUVARISAI TRADITIONAL TAMIL MARTIAL ART, Silambam and Kuthuvarisai are among the most ancient forms of martial art originating from Tamil Nadu, South East India. Archaeological research in the region has confirmed the use of weapons of war for this martial art from earliest times. Silambam formed the basis of the art of Kung Fu, carried overseas by Buddhist monks who travelled frequently between India and China. Tamil literature indicates that the ancient Greeks made excursions to this region of India in order to purchase weapons used for Silambam. Silambam remains a deeply traditional art form of Tamil Nadu. It is passed down from master to student through years of rigorous daily practise. Today, young disciples remain under the constant guidance of their guru, as they practise to achieve physical balance and the perfect mastery of body and space. Among many of the techniques learnt are the natural mimicry of animal movement, namely, the cat, cock, monkey, snake and tiger. Ancient weapons of war have evolved into weapons of display, with skilled exponents of the art employing swords, knives, animal horns, fire and bamboo sticks to dazzling effect. Silambam also incorporates elements of folk dance whereby sinuous movement is combined with determined rhythmic cycles. Percussion instruments such as the ‘Pombai’ and ‘ Udukkai’ are often played to accompany demonstrations of this ancient martial art. MASTER (AASAN) JOTHI SENTHIL KANNAN is the General Secretary and Founder of the International Silambam and Kuthuvarisai Federation; a national coach and referee of Silambam for Pondicherry State, the Indian Silambam Federation, and the Pondicherry Pankration Athlima Association. Jothi is also a registered practitioner of the ancient Indian medicinal art of Siddha.
